Orbiting a distant star on one of the Ten Known Planes of Existence, lies the ancient world of Solteris. A beautiful world that has sat quietly amongst the stars, unnoticed by the many civilized races of that plane, until the time came when the Chunan, a near-human species, discovered the Veril.

Since then Solteris has become a world populated by thousands of races that come from multiple worlds, universes, times and planes of Existence. Some of these races are similar to humans, while others are like nothing never found on Earth.
There are many countries on Solteris. The largest is the Synal Empire. At its height, the Synal Empire covered all of Solteris, its two moons and dozens of planetary systems in its own plane of existence and beyond.
When a successful rebellion on Earth forced the races of Solteris back to their homeworld the Synal Empire proposed a treaty with Earth's Equisitrum. This treaty gave the Equisitrum control of Earth while the Synal Empire remained in control of their lands. However, the treaty between the two worlds was not accepted by most of Solteris. For years a brutal civil war destroyed the Synal Empire. Reducing the once mighty empire to just a hand full of islands on Solteris.

Solteris has evolved into a world that has successfully combined the “old magical” ways with technology. Solteris never developed the use of crude oils or other polluting sources of energy. They have developed advanced Steam Engines combined with other natural energy sources to power their machines and cities.
